Clint came to Troy shortly after I did and we had a fun relationship, he was part of our monthly poker group but most important was his influence in educating me and Troy about Civil rights.

He had a gift to communicate in a non threatening manner and it was important at that time, and we could use his influence today in many places.

He will be missed.

My condolences to the Dorsey Family!
We can all remember the awkward times of being a teenager in Junior High School. Mr. Dorsey was my guidance counselor when I got to my Freshman year at Troy High School. He really talked me through those times. In fact he told me that if I greeted all those that I passed in the hallways with a smile it would make a difference. He told me I could be Homecoming Queen. And much to my surprise in the fall of 1974, that did happen. I always felt Mr. Dorsey changed my life!

This news saddens me and brings tears to my eyes. I feel I was bestowed an amazing grace to have known Mr. Dorsey. In high school at a time of great confusion and despair in my life Mr. Dorsey was there to comfort me. He was also there to give me insight into the plight of others. During a time of great civil unrest in America Mr. Dorsey educated me in his Black History Course. He also gave me the opportunity to experience something that few boys of my race at that time in our history could experience. We spent an afternoon at the Black Panther Headquarters in Dayton. Mr. Dorsey I love you; I'm sorry I am not a better man; please forgive me; thank you

I had to privelage to work with Clinton at Miami Jacobs Career College. I would work the evening shift at the front desk, Clinton was my partner in crime and would sit at the desk with me as he was on security duty at the time. He would always bring in scratch off tickets promising each other we would split the money if we had won. He always was concerned with how I was doing, if everything was going okay. I think that was the counselor in him. Clint always told me his job was to take care of me, joking around. He was a great man, I thought of Clint often as many of our conversations I will never forget and will hold dearly to my heart! My thought and prayers go out to his family.

Clinton Dorsey Family and Friends,

To a remarkable man with many talents and a wonderful smile. I remember many years ago Clinton tried very hard to teach me how to play tennis, he said one day I need to tie a 2x4 to your arm so you can hit the pace shot.
I feel that the Troy Community has lost a great individual that would go the extra mile for anyone. God now has another Great Angel to carry on in heaven.

Till we meet again, RIP Clinton.
William / Darlene Russell.
